Strawberries
Supplies:
- Air-dry clay
- Acrylic paints
- Mod Podge
- Green cardstock
- Scissors
- Glue
Step 1: Mold the strawberries
Start with a ball of model magic or any type of air-dry clay and then start gently making a very subtle cone shape. Then on the thicker side use your finger to make an indentation on the top. If you’re making a lot, make sure to vary the sizes a little bit so they’re a little bit less uniform.
Make indentations for the seeds using a toothpick. I would recommend making the holes from an angle; this way it’ll make holes that are a little bit bigger and more realistic for the size of a seed. Let dry.
Step 2: Paint the strawberries
Apply one coat of red paint. Then, mix together a green and brown color for the seeds and fill in each of the holes that you made. Don’t worry too much about being neat with this because we are going to go over it with another layer of red. Then, mix together light red and dark red paint and gently paint another coat over the top, making sure to leave some of the color from the seeds poking through.
Step 3: Create the leaves
Take a small square of green card stock and fold it in half and then in half again to create an even smaller square. With the creases on the left and bottom, take your right hand and round off the edges of the side with no creases.
Then on that same side, cut two small triangles out a little bit apart from each other so you should end up with a three-pointed leaf shape.
Unfold your paper to reveal the final shape.
Finally, stick the leaves to the top of the berry using tacky glue.
