Cake Pops
Supplies:
- Small styrofoam balls
- Air-dry clay/ model magic
- Sucker stick
- Acrylic paint
- Toppings (click here for a tutorial)
- Sprinkles
- Shaved Cocnut
- Peanuts
Step 1: Create the base
Form a 1 inch ball of air dry clay – model magic or model lite are two that I use often. Place the ball between two pieces of wax or parchment paper and roll out into a circle. When it is large enough, place it around a small styrofoam ball and let dry. Place a sucker stick into the bottom of the ball and hot glue into place.
Step 2: Paint
Paint each cake pop the desired color with acrylic paint. Two to three coats of pain will be needed to cover properly.
Step 3: Apply Toppings
While the paint is still wet you can apply the toppings. I used corn cob bedding as peanuts, faux sprinkles (see tutorial on making faux sprinkles) and a grated unscented white candle for faux coconut flakes. I also used some white puffy paint as icing to add some decorations and some faux chocolate icing as a drizzle. For the chocolate drizzle mix together clear caulk and brown paint. Use a small baggie with a hole as a piping bag to make the drizzle.
